Unable to come in and browse for books to read? Need books for someone who can't make it to the library? My Book Bag has got you covered!
We are pleased to bring you our new contactless book-borrowing service: My Book Bag.
We have two bags available for you to choose from:
1) A general, genre-focussed, pre-selected bag. Our team of librarians have these ready to go. You can choose from a variety of genres to meet your reading tastes. If you know your favourite genre and love sticking to it, then this is the bag for you.
2) A customised bag based on your preferences and needs. Our team of librarians will personally select each item for you and endeavour to accommodate your specific requests as much as possible. Want some recipe books with great baking ideas, a sports biography, a novel set in the Australian Outback, a couple of picture books in Te Reo Māori, and a home and garden magazine? Make this your bag of choice.
We have a range of children's, teen, and adult books, magazines, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks available.
Yes, you can return your books inside as usual, or you can drop your books in the after hours returns slots.
Librarians will fill your bag with 10 items and check them out to your library account. Bags can be made up for adults, teens, children and pre-schoolers and we can supply magazines, DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs along with your books.
Please order a separate book bag for each member of your family.
You request your items via online form or on the phone. You can opt for a pre-selected bag which will have great titles and authors from a particular genre or you can opt for a more customised bag to meet your needs. Bags can be made up for adults, teens, children and pre-schoolers.
We will arrange with you a time to collect your bag from one of the libraries.Your bag will be clearly labelled with your name, you simply pick it up and take it away. The books will already be checked out to your account. A staff member will be available, if you do need assistance.
If you are over 70 or immuno-compromised please contact us. We can arrange home delivery for the most vulnerable in our community.
