Local history is not only about the past it is also about the present and the future. During the COVID-19 level 4 lockdown we were all in a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and with your help this will be remembered well into the future.
Waimakariri Libraries would like your help to record memories for future generations about how this event affected our community. We are putting out a request for any photos or stories surrounding your ‘new normal’ life in lockdown. You can email them to firstname.lastname@example.org or message our Facebook page.
It would be great to see a wide range of stories and photos, whether it be a magical fort your kids made in the living room, or the story of the shock you felt going to the supermarket for the first time during the lockdown. This is about what you would like to share for future generations.
If you are interested in talking about your experiences, we'd be delighted to hear from you, please feel free to call 03 311 8901 and ask for Beth and Sally.
In submitting your photographs you are accepting Waimakariri District Libraries will be using them in line with Creative Commons Licensing.
If possible, it would be great if any submissions are also sent in with the following information:
Where the photograph was taken: suburb, address, etc.If someone is in your photograph, we would love to know their name, so long as they are happy to supply it. Finally, we would really appreciate if you could tell us the date you took the photograph - if you know the time that is even better!
