Waimakariri Libraries Opening: Monday 18th May

Published: 15-May-2020

YAY we are open! Yes as of 18th May our door are open. We can’t wait to see all again.

Yes, some things may have changed a little.

To come in our libraries you’ll need to give us your name and details. We have track and trace in place too.Be aware that there will be a limit to how many people we can have in the library at one time. The idea is you come in enjoy our lovely spaces but if there is a massive cue outside please do not linger and keep 2 metres apart.

We are quarantining the books and items you return for 24 hours.

Once you’re inside, please use hand sanitiser and we have gloves available if you feel more comfortable wearing them too. Then time to pick your books, read the paper, scan your life away.

Our computers are now separated. One half an hour slot per person -per day.  Please wipe down the area after you have used it!!

Yes, there may be short waits but we are all now champions of the cause and we have tape on the ground to help you keep two metres apart.

There will be no events at the library at the moment but we will continue with our super online babytimes, storytimes, My Book Bag, Lego club, book groups to keep you connected and enjoying your usual library services.

At the library we might ask you to enter and leave through separate doors but staff will be there to guide you all the way.

That’s it – we can’t wait to see you on Monday !!
