Library Resources and Useful Websites for Writers

Books: The library has a huge collection of books to help the writer in all stages of their work and is a great resource for research. A few examples of titles include:

The library also provides access to a number of databases via the library website. You will need your library barcode and pin to access these. Databases include:

  • Ancestry Library edition – for those working on family history.
  • Australia/ New Zealand Reference Centre - magazines, journals, news and reference book content with an emphasis on publications from Australia and New Zealand.
  • Biography reference centre - Almost 500,000 full text biographies, searchable by name, nationality, occupation, dates and more.
  • Consumer Health Complete – brilliant background on all health and medical matters.
  • Historic newspapers collection - a large collection of historic newspapers from Britain and the United States, from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
