Library Anywhere is Here!
Library Anywhere is a library catalogue for your mobile phone (with a web browser), with free apps available for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android-powered mobile devices.
The Waimakariri District Libraries were the first libraries in New Zealand to join up with Library Anywhere.
With Library Anywhere you can use your iPhone or iPod Touch etc. to search our library catalogue, view the locations and opening hours of our three libraries, check your account, renew books, place a hold on books, and even email a librarian to ask a question.
To get the Library Anywhere app for iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad search iTunes or the App Store for 'Libanywhere'. You can download the Library Anywhere app for your Android device from the Android Marketplace, or go to http://www.libanywhere.com/la/getandroid.html.
When you start the Library Anywhere app it's easy to find Waimakariri District Libraries. The direct link to Waimakariri District Libraries from your mobile phone browser is http://www.libanywhere.com/m/337. You can also use this link from your PC to check out what Library Anywhere is all about.
Once you have selected our library, you can search our catalogue just like you can on your home PC – by title, subject, general keyword, author and even by Dewey call number. You can save books you have found for quick retrieval - just click 'save' at the top of the book details page. To view your list of saved books just click the star icon in the top bar.
To log into your account you will need your library card number and a PIN. If you don’t already have a PIN loaded on your card, just ask at one of our libraries. From your account you can see what books you have out and when they are due back, renew books, see any money owing on your account and even place a hold on a book. Sign into your account by clicking on the head and shoulders icon in the bar at the top of the screen.
