Summer Reading Programme for Children
The Great Book Mystery - Summer Reading Programme 2012/2013

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Programme – we hope you had lots of fun and enjoyed yourselves at the finale party. A big thank you to the parents for regularly bringing your children along to the report-ins, and for your patience at these sessions! Some days were busier than others!
We had 180 children registered District-wide and the vast majority completed the requirements of the programme. Quite a few of the children who participated, read more than 50 books which is outstanding. Our aim is to encourage reading over the holidays and it is great to see every child read at least four books, which equates to one a week.
We had a wonderful response to the programme evaluation forms handed out during the third report-in. We will endeavour to take on board the many positive suggestions in our programme next year.
Look out for the advertising for our next Reading Programme enrolment notices in the library, the Northern Outlook community notices, on our web page and in your school notices, towards the end of term three. We look forward to your participation next summer.
Keep up the great reading skills that you have developed over the holidays!
The summer reading programme is supported by Waimakariri District Libraries and Friends of the Library.
