Encyclopedias and general homework sites

 Encyclopedias are a great place to start looking for information on a huge range of topics.  The best one for really young children is the World Book Online – Kids edition. If it's New Zealand information you want, try Te Ara, NZ’s online encyclopedia, or some of the other web links listed here.
