Oxford Update

What has been happening out in Oxford.

finished books

Term one at Oxford Library has been very productive. The students of the Adult Bookbinding class completed two journals each. The main project (pictured) was a journal made with traditional bookbinding techniques. Students had to do everything from sew the pages together, right through to covering and naming their books. Some of the books have already been put to good use, and have been well written in! The children's craft group have almost finished their projects. The handmade bespoke boxes are in their final stages!

We are starting to make plans for term 2 programmes, so watch this space!

Building updateExcellent progress is being made on the building of the new Oxford Library. Despite the initial delays related to the underground well, and the foundation problems of the old library, the building is on track to be completed by the end of July. At this stage we hope to be up and running from the new library by mid August – fingers crossed we encounter no major delays! Looking forward to the official opening, there are still many things to be organised, which will be keeping us very busy.
