Looking at seaweed; did you know you probably eat seaweed more often than you think?  What would happen if all the seaweed died?  What is killing the seaweed?  How do we pollute our oceans? What type of pollution ends up in our oceans? Make a density column to sea how the chemicals react in the ocean.

Why does the Moon look different each night?  How is the Moon and the Earth connected? Why does the Moon and the Earth not float off into space?  Do we see all of the Moon from Earth?

Machines make our lives easier. What type of machine do we use every day?  Do you know how levers, gears and pulleys work?  Can you build and design a machine using Lego?

Science Alive! is a not-for-profit trust, dedicated to educating the public about science and technology within the Canterbury region. Planning is underway for a new science centre.

In the meantime, we continue our important work with outreach programmes and events within the community, like Science Snippets in the Library.
